Dr. Elizabeth L. Conrad
Dr. Conrad has been a general practitioner since 2002 and owner of the Okaloosa Animal Clinic since 2004. She studied in Madrid, Spain for 1 year, earned her B.A. in Biology and Spanish from the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota, and her D.V.M. from the University of Missouri - Columbia. Before Dr. Conrad went to veterinary school, she worked for 5 years in medical research for PET and MRI imaging. When she isn’t working, Dr. Conrad is active at her church and enjoys visiting the homebound and parishioners in nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities. She shares her home with 2 Miniature Schnauzers and enjoys reading, jigsaw puzzles, kayaking, and attending symphony performances and theatrical productions.
Christina Christy – Certified Veterinary Technician
Christina, who graduated from Bel Rea Institute with her Associates in Veterinary Technology and is a Certified Veterinary Technician, also has achieved Pet First Aid and CPR Certification. After getting her first dog in high school and developing a strong bond, she decided that it was her dream to help other people develop similar bonds with their pets. She is excited to learn something new every day and she loves educating clients, growing as a team, and performing her favorite techniques which include dental procedures and assisting with surgeries. Christina makes her home with her husband and their three pets: Shyloh, a Labrador Retriever; Wylie, a Golden Retriever; and Reyna, a cat. When she isn’t working, she enjoys listening to music, fishing, and spending time with her family. The best place she’s ever been is Estes Park, CO.
Michelle Loy – Receptionist
Michelle graduated from Niceville High School and attended Okaloosa Walton Community College. She enjoys working with animals and being able to work with the public all for the cause of helping animals. She has had many interesting experiences in the field; her favorite was assisting in surgery for her own dog. She is known for staying calm in stressful situations. Michelle has been married to her husband Chris for 21 years and has 2 sons, Tyler and Ryan. She also has 3 pets: 2 dogs, McKinley and Denny, and Bird Bird a Cockatiel. One of her favorite places is Alaska where she lived for 9 years.
Alexa – Receptionist
Alexa, who attended NWFSC, has always loved animals and also likes to help people. Her career choice is the perfect one for her! She has a great time helping clients, as well as working with and meeting people from many different backgrounds. Her only pet is an Irish Setter named Flynn, and of course he is also her favorite animal. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering with high school youth and with the Seacrest Wolf Preserve. She also enjoys reading and her favorite book is Persuasion by Jane Austen.
Holly Defatte – Veterinary Assistant
Holly attended Northwest Florida State College. From a young age she has been interested in working with animals and has had a number of interesting experiences in the field, including assisting with a blood transfusion. The amount of knowledge Holly has gained while working at the practice is one of her favorite aspects of her position. Her own pet is a German Shorthaired Pointer named Chief. When she isn’t working she enjoys riding her four-wheeler and baking.
